Badlands Sunset by Diane Maietta, The Poetry Chic
ZODIACAL LIGHT(Zodiacal Light-n: a diffuse glow seen in the west after twilight, and in the east before dawn.)
I get kidnapped by the evening:
The shimmering moon, the sparkling stars.
I know it sounds beyond reasoning
It’s just that it’s so spectacular
…it always goes that way…
The spirits travel in wonder,
Across the clouds, they dance~like fairies,
And all I hear is the thunder
That rolls across the hills & prairies
…if only I could run away…
How many times have I been here,
And how many more nights will I see
The Divine Power’s chandelier
Assembled in this small galaxy?
…save us on Judgment Day…
This world holds one astronomy
That cares not of our man-made rules;
If only we’d live in harmony
As written within the Golden Rule
…is it too late to pray…
It always serves to excite me
The bouquet of a midnight domain:
A bounty seems to ignite in me,
It’s a feeling I try to explain
…and it always goes that way…
