Thought I would stop in my day here at home, snap a quick “hello” smile for you, and sit and write a chat.
3 smiles of me–but let’s get to what they are all about:
First, I’m starting to feel strong again. It’s been a slow recovery.
You see, early last Spring, I had spinal fusion surgery that was quite intensive, and a good bit extensive.
They released me from the hospital on my birthday, and I got to come home using my temporary walker, and having 13 staples closing my 6-inch incision, where 8 screws and rods, and a few bone grafts lay just beneath in my spine.
Recovery and rehabilitation from nerve pain is a challenge that has made its presence known. Bit of a quandry when one is seeking to regain muscle strength and as much mobility as possible.
Even if I cannot completely squash the nerve pain, I am aiming to regain as much muscle strength as I possibly may with the help and guidance of PT.
There are other spinal surgery patients who have had more done to their spines than I have, but I can only speak for myself, and in so doing maybe I can give others out there with serious back pain issues some hope and inspiration.
I am a fighter. I refuse to be forced down for the count if there is something I can do about it.
So, anyhow–long story short, it feels good to smile.
Second, I am working on my colors–
for my logo, and all of the neat “The Poetry Chic” artsy things I will be creating for you. I have so much on my creativity radar, and I want to get it just right as I bring this all together for my subscribers.
BTW–I know in the Land of Blogging you are suppose to have an offer to capture subscribers, and believe me there will be one coming, probably at least by Summer 2015…thinking of a free chapter in my eBook of poems and photos…but I do not have that for you today.
What I do have, along the way, will be my poems and photos presented for you in the most creative way I am personally able to deliver them to you.
I’m also juggling ideas around for other goodies–’cause that’s the kinda girl I am. 🙂
I am learning SOOOO much along the way, and IT IS SO MUCH FUN…and soooo educational. Believe me, if any of you out there have a taste for publishing your words and your work online, blogging is such a great way to go.
I am discovering some amazing women out there in the Land of Blogging, and I WILL be sharing with you just the ones who are teaching me what I need to know to do what I desire to do. (In the meantime, thank you April Bowles Olin, Laura Hollick, and Jewels Branch, and Nathalie Villeneuve.) Education, direction, motivation, and inspiration is who these women are.
Concentration, meditation, and paying it forward.
Third, the time is right today to stop and talk with you–let you get to know me more. I’m a pretty private person–I display so much of myself in my poetry, that it can be trying for me to sit and let my thought process go for long enough to write a lifestyle post–
AND I NEED TO DO MORE OF THIS!!!
I mean come on, girlfriend! My B.A. is in Journalism & Communications; I was the editor of the school newspapers in both Junior and Senior High–articles and editorials were my luxury.
While expounding had at one time been my delight, my romance with poetry has abbreviated me–I “discuss” my emotions and meditations in stanzas now, rather than in columns.
I prefer at this stage of my life to find my Goldilocks of it all–my happy medium where it is neither too much, nor too little, but just right in the verbiage design of some exquisitely beautiful vibration that flows into my mind and heart.
If you are looking for poetry that rants and raves, I do not have that for you here.
I am a romantic. I am spiritual, and I find my deepest expression in the eroticism that passionately bleeds through my soul.
I wish I could write political or social commentary poetry, but that is not my voice. That is the voice of others, and I find strength when I read their words.
My voice, however, will give you a ray, a moonbeam, to fly away with, and dream on.
So, there it is, for now, and here I am.
We’ll talk again soon. Keep in touch, please, because you mean so much to me out there reading what I have to share with you. Leave me a comment, and let’s get acquainted.
Peace & Namaste.
P.S…Told you, I am working on finding my colors.
